Returning to Phekolong Hospital
In December 2024, we returned to Bethlehem to continue our partnership with Phekolong Hospital in South Africa’s Free State.
Once again, we supported orthotic and prosthetic care for children and adults affected by polio, limb amputation, clubfoot, cerebral palsy, and other conditions affecting mobility.
We were grateful to reunite with Mamiky and the orthotics and prosthetics team, whose hands continue the work long after ours have left.
This time, our mission expanded beyond mobility care. Together with the local team, we hosted a community health fair offering blood pressure and blood sugar checks, vision testing, health education, and private medical consultations.
Dr. Koloi joined us in seeing and caring for patients throughout the health fair. His presence was timely and deeply appreciated. He also helped bridge language barriers with patients whose language I did not understand, allowing them to be heard, understood, and cared for more effectively.
Our time together also included ministry, prayer, and the distribution of Bibles. We were blessed to witness lives touched spiritually and people come to salvation.
A special thank you to Mapitso, who helped organize the health fair, and to Renee and Peter Gregory, who accompanied us and served alongside us on the ground.
