Terms of service

Last updated: 25 September 2026

Welcome to the website of The Well Projects. By using this site you agree to the terms below. They are written to be read, not skimmed, and they are shorter than most.

About this site

This site is published by The Well Projects, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, 3620 Pelham Road, Suite 5 #128, Greenville, SC 29615, USA. It exists to tell the story of our missions, to help people get in touch, and to make giving easy.

Not medical advice

Some of our missions involve health screenings and health education, and this site describes them. Nothing on this site is medical advice, and reading it does not create a relationship between you and any physician. If you have a health concern, please see a qualified professional. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

Donations

  • Every gift is voluntary. Gifts to The Well Projects are tax-deductible in the United States to the extent the law allows, and we send a receipt for every gift we can trace to a donor.
  • Card gifts are processed by Stripe, and Zelle and PayPal gifts by those services. Their terms apply to the payment itself. We never see or store card numbers.
  • If you made a gift by mistake, or entered the wrong amount, email us within 30 days and we will work it out with you.
  • Monthly gifts can be stopped at any time. Use the link in your Stripe receipt or simply write to us.
  • We put gifts to work where the need is greatest unless you ask us, in writing, to direct a gift to a specific mission and we agree we can honour it.

Photos, videos and stories

The words, photographs and videos on this site belong to The Well Projects or are used with permission. They show real people, many of them in vulnerable moments, and we ask you to treat them with the same respect we do.

  • You are welcome to link to any page, and to share our posts on social media using the sharing tools provided.
  • You may not copy, download, edit or republish our photos or videos, or use them for commercial purposes, without our written permission.
  • You may quote short passages of text for news, study or commentary if you credit The Well Projects and link back to the page.

Using the site responsibly

Please use the site as it is meant to be used. Do not try to interfere with it, overload it, probe it for weaknesses, or scrape its content. Do not use the contact form to send anything unlawful, abusive or misleading, or to impersonate someone else. We may block access from anyone who does.

Other services and links

We link to partner organisations, social media and payment providers. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for what they publish or how they treat your information. Their own terms and policies apply once you leave this site.

No guarantees

We work hard to keep this site accurate and available, but we provide it as it is. We do not promise it will always be error-free or online, and we may change or remove content at any time. To the fullest extent the law allows, The Well Projects and the people who serve with it are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or your reliance on anything in it.

Privacy

How we handle the information you share with us is described in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina and the United States of America. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of South Carolina, though we would much rather talk it through with you first.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top tells you when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
